The Fluke Ti300 has been discontinued.

As promised this post is going to dive into more of the features of Fluke’s new series of cameras, specifically the Fluke Ti300 Thermal Imager.

Let’s touch briefly on the unique features of this camera and then a little info on the cool new LaserSharp focus system that Fluke has come up with.

At one point in your life, i’m sure you have heard the phrase “Time is money”. When it comes to combustion analysis, time actually is money. Time can be measured in two ways in this respect. The first is how much time you spend doing a full combustion analysis for a client. The second, and often overlooked, is the importance of doing a job right the first time. Luckily, Testo has both bases covered with the Testo 310 Residential Combustion Analyzer. This analyzer will pay for itself many times over during its life cycle.

Fluke’s newest offering in the emerging market for Visual IR Thermometers is the Fluke VT04. I recently posted about the Fluke VT02 and mentioned that it has some limitations. Many of these issues have been addressed in VT04 and have set it at the head of the pack for this new kind of tester.

Do you like free stuff? Who doesn’t? How about free education? You mean that stuff that comes out of books and college kids pay thousands and thousands of dollars a year to get? Sure do!

ITC (the Infrared Training Center), a subsidiary of FLIR, now provides tons of free courses covering all aspects of thermography and thermal imaging cameras for free on their website.

      Since February 2013, all Bacharach Fyrite Insight Plus and InTech Combustion Analyzers have shipped featuring the new Ambient CO Test Mode. This new test is available in the main menu when the unit is in the Siegert Combustion Measurement mode. The Ambient CO Test is a 15 minute test that will take and record a CO measurement every minute (see picture at right). The display screen will show the measurements for each minute as well as the max CO that it has measured.

What is an IR window? Basically it is a crystal lens that allows broadband infrared waves to pass through it (as well as visible light). The lens does not however allow electrical current to pass through. This enables the thermographer to take IR and visible images of live and energized electrical equipment.

The Flir i3, i5, and i7 Infrared Cameras have been disontinued.

I was involved recently in a meeting with the fine folks at FLIR and something that came up was the subject of IR thermometers or “spot guns”. Now most of you in the field are probably very familiar with these devices but some good talking points arose regarding why, if you want to increase your efficiency and long term money making potential, you should basically throw your spot gun in the garbage and pick up a point and shoot thermal imager like the Flir i3.

      Today I will be discussing the Extech CT70 AC Circuit Load and Outlet Tester. This circuit load tester may be small, but it packs a big punch. The first thing you notice about this load and outlet tester is the digital display. This innovation is oddly late to the party but makes life so much easier. When using the CT70 as an outlet tester the display will shine Blue for Pass and Red if there is a problem. The outlet functions that it handles are as follows,

Today we’re going to talk about a tool that, as far as I know, has no current competition or comparable product on the market – the Fluke VT02. While it has its limitations, it is certainly one of the best and most cost-effective choices for certain applications.
