The Fluke Ti300 has been discontinued.

As promised this post is going to dive into more of the features of Fluke’s new series of cameras, specifically the Fluke Ti300 Thermal Imager.

Let’s touch briefly on the unique features of this camera and then a little info on the cool new LaserSharp focus system that Fluke has come up with.

The Fluke Ti300 Thermal Imager boasts 240x180 pixel resolution and is available in a 9Hz or 60Hz refresh rate. It also includes all the bells and whistles detailed in my last blog post on the Fluke Ti200.

Now, on to one of the most exciting new features of this camera series - LaserSharp auto-focus. The question is, as Fluke poses it, how does a normal auto-focus camera know what to focus on? Long story short, it doesn’t. Thus, it often will auto-focus on the nearest foreground object causing (according to Fluke) temperature reading variations up to 20 degrees. The LaserSharp system included with the Fluke Ti200, Ti300 , and Ti400 uses essentially a laser distance meter to calculate the distance to your desired target and then focus in on it. This allows you to take clear temperature readings through objects like a chain-link fence without having to worry about your cameras focus. Truly point and shoot.
