Greetings all. Today’s post will take a look at the various Wohler VIS 400 systems that are available. It basically comes down to what your application is and what rod or reel system you require.  

The VIS 400 is designed to be Wohler’s most modular offering in the video inspection market, hence the wide variety of kits, and all the parts are interchangeable so you can build a system as you go. The core of this VIS 400 system is the monitor/control station and the innovations to the camera head. First off, technology like Wohler offers simply doesn’t exist in this price range from another company. Really the only limitation is their max rod length of 100 feet. Other than that, in my opinion, in this price range, Wohler has no competition. If this is your budget range and you want a step up from your run-of-the-mill borescope, go Wohler.

The VIS 400 monitor features buttons that give you great control over and visualization of the camera head. The picture itself is super clear. You might as well have climbed into the pipe yourself. It is super good. Also the orientation and distance of the camera head are displayed constantly onscreen and the addition of a “home” key allows you to instantly orient the camera toward the downward center of gravity. This guarantees you will never get confused which direction you are looking in the pipe. Also, the controls allow full pan and tilt so you can get a good view of virtually anything you need to look at. Finally, you can locate the camera head using Wohler’s new L200 locator. These are killer, fully featured systems and a great buy.
