Today I am reviewing the 416 Mini Vane CFM Anemometer from Testo. The Testo 416’s primary operation is to measure volume flow quickly and accurately. The Testo 416 is great for flow velocity measurements in ducts, evaluating thermal comfort, HVAC installation, repair, diagnostics and optimization, fume hood testing, installation, and verification, ventilation system installation, servicing, and analysis, environmental wind testing, ionizer flow output, automobile aerodynamic testing, plant/facilities maintenance, etc.

The Testo 416 has many great and useful features. The MIN and MAX recall function is great for finding out the highest and lowest readings, timed averages with multi-point readings gives a fantastic overview of the average volume flow, data hold is always useful for when the user needs to keep a reading on the display, the backlit display helps the user obtain readings in almost any lighting situation, ability to switch the units of measure, an automatic shut-off after the unit has been idle for a period of time, and optional TopSafe casing to provide extra protection from dirt and impact. 

The Testo 416 is designed with a 16mm (0.63 inches) vane probe attached onto a telescoping shaft for quick and easy access into ducts. The probe telescopes up to 890mm (35 inches) which is excellent for hard-to-reach areas. Using the Testo 416 is intuitive and straightforward - simply insert the probe into the area in which you are measuring for volume flow (such as a vent or duct). The volume flow will be displayed live on the bright and easy-to-read display.
