Hello again all. This week we’re going to take a look at an exciting product from T3 Innovation – the CC200 Coax Clarifier. The other part numbers you see in the title line refer to the different kits which include various remotes and a tone probe with the CC250. So let’s take a look at this bad boy. This tester works on coax cables and has some special features that set it apart from your typical coax tester.

As far as the standard features, the CC200 finds faults on coax cables and measures cables lengths up to 1500ft. The Coax Clarifier can also determine return loss and thus quality of a coax cable. The kits, like the CC220, also include enough remotes to wiremap a system with up to 12 different cables. Here’s where it gets interesting. The Coax Clarifier line can detect up to 6 RF remotes (included with the CC250) through a splitter. This feature that most coax testers can’t do. The average Coax Tester will simply show a short at the point on a line where a splitter occurs. The ability to check faults and map to remote through a splitter is a huge advancement in this field that means much greater efficiency and ease of use for cable providers and technicians.

These units can also locate splitters in a system, as well as test the quality of the splitter’s performance. Finally, The CC250 includes a tone probe for tracing a signal that the Coax Clarifier puts on the cable attached to the unit.
