Bacharach H-10 Pro is easily one of the most popular and effective refrigerant leak detectors on the market. The H-10 Pro uses a positive ion heated-diode sensor to detect refrigerant, which boasts the highest accuracy compared to other methods such as ultrasonic leak detectors. Heated diode sensors heat the refrigerant in the air and break apart the molecules that make up the refrigerant. Positively charged chlorine and fluorine ions are attracted to the negatively charged center collection wire, and a small current is created. The machine then uses the strength of the current to determine the strength of the leak.
The Bacharach H-10 Pro is equipped to detect all halogen-based, non-flammable CFC, HFC, and HCFC refrigerants including: R22, R12, R410a, R134a, R404a, R502, R507, and many others. The H-10 Pro detects refrigerants down to an incredibly low 0.006 oz/yr. The H-10 Pro also has convenient features such as a visual sensor calibration system with included leak reference bottle, the ability to run off a rechargeable battery or external wall adapter, and a headphone port for use in noisy environments.
The Bacharach H-10 Pro is equipped with a rugged shoulder strap, 4.5 foot (1.37m) probe, and a durable carrying case that stores the probe and the unit as a whole. The H-10 Pro utilizes audible and visual indicators to indicate when the probe is close to a leak. The tip of the probe has a red LED light that blinks more rapidly the closer you get to the source of the leak.
The Bacharach H-10 Pro’s sensor lasts about 1 year with standard usage. The sensor is easily field replaceable so there is no need to send your unit into the manufacturer coupled with the downtime of no longer having your unit on hand.
